Awesome. And today's guest is Dr. Tommy Ray. He's a sports chiropractor and author, pioneer in cell free regenerative medicine. And he has been in clinical practice since 2006 and has spent over 20 years in the regenerative medical field. Help me welcome him today. Hello, Dr. Tommy. How are you? [00:03:16] Speaker C: Cindy? I'm doing awesome. Thank you for the intro. This is gonna be a fun one. [00:03:20] Speaker A: Yes, it is. It is. Listen, we talked off air and I'm so excited because we're going to talk about inflammation in women. I want you to tell us about, you know, the hormonal functions and all these different things that you've learned in your practice. But first there's always cause and effect. Tell us how you got here, tell us about your journey. What got you to this point in life? [00:03:44] Speaker C: Well, let's see. So I'm a sports guy, right? Sports is kind of like a medical chiropractor, physical therapist, but morely just into the actual, like the body mechanics and how people can perform at their, you know, optimum level. So it started off with chiropractic and working my way from UCLA days in the athletic department. And then those kids go into the actual professional or the Olympic level and you follow along. Well, during this process, you're understanding about their workouts, their performance, and then their recovery. And then you always see that everybody talks about, let's go work out hard, let's push hard, but really nobody really talks about recovery. You know, really healing the tissue back to normal. And that's what's important. So that's what we really need to understand is that exercise is important, but the recovery is as important as the exercise. So. So once I understood that with these athletes, it's about how to speed up that recovery. And that's how regenerative medicine, stem cell therapy, all that. So as I continue on, I'm with teams, I'm with athletes, I'm with professionals. And then I know that these athletes need that recovery. And then once you get to them in that kind of capacity and you help them with that recovery with regenerative medicine, then I start thinking, well, athletes have this stuff. Let's get down to the actual everyday person. And that's where I started thinking about how can I develop something that's easier for these, you know, patients, people, normal people that don't play professional sports. And that's how I got into this world of, you know, creating this type of topical stem cell cream and then moving on to, you know, describing it in a book Form. And lo and behold, we're having a conversation about it right here. [00:05:21] Speaker A: Wow. Wow, that is interesting. How does that. Your practice. And I know you have coed audiences. I tell people that even with myself as the busy women's cheerleader is like, oh, no, I have coed clients, coed audiences, you know, that you have to address. But the focus is on ladies. But the thing is, within the two dynamics, and, And I'm going to say something, and I know you've heard this before. Why is it like the men's dynamic, they, you know, we both set out the same time, and they're going to lose, you know, 20 pounds or 10 inches to a woman's two pounds and a quarter of an inch. You know, why. Why is that? Why is that dynamic so extraordinarily different? Yeah. [00:06:04] Speaker C: I think the big thing you have to remember is that, you know, that that weight that you're, you know, everybody wants to lose that fat, that adipose tissue. Well, you know, men, we don't need it as much as females. Females need it. When you start playing with that. No, I mean, pre. You know, when you talk about that, that menopause, we're talking about that type of female, you need that fat, you need that tissue. Because when you start losing that weight, you'll hear about, like, bodybuilders that lose that weight to get that peak performance that, you know, that, that 3, 5% fat composition. Well, they start losing that hormones, right? They start losing an imbalance of their hormones, and then they stop having their menstrual cycles. They start having difficulty with their hormones. So that's why fat's important for females. So when you lose fat in females, your body tries to fight that. You're, you know, females need that type of tissue, whereas men, you know, we don't need it as much. [00:06:54] Speaker A: Okay. Okay, that makes sense. So how did you first originally get into sports medicine? How did you. What made you go into your practice? [00:07:06] Speaker C: Well, all starts from where you know, I grew up. I'm athletic, kid. And I knew that I want to stay in sports. Luckily, my dad was a surgeon, a doctor. And then because of that, so I see what he's doing. I see the relationship he has with his patients. And I said, well, I want that, but I want to go into this world because I'm good at sports and I can connect the two. So from that I said, well, there's got to be a field. And of course there is sports med. [00:07:32] Speaker A: Okay, okay, that works. That works. How important is. And I hear this a lot how important is, as a person is aging? How important is it to do even lightweight exercise? How does that reflect on, like, the joints and the causes of inflammation? And we'll get into that, you know, here in a minute. But. But how does, you know. You hear, keep moving, keep moving, keep moving. And then you hear about, you know, like, targeted. Targeted exercises. And then you hear, okay, just any type of random movement helps keep everything lubricated, all the joints moving. You know, things from kind of locking up and shutting down while you're still trying to move. You know, those types of things. How important is exercise? And what would you suggest as like, some. I would say somebody over 40. You know, you don't want military calisthenics. [00:08:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:08:26] Speaker A: Where you're. You're actually, you know, moving your body in a way that's healthy, but not breaking, being counterproductive. Breaking something instead of helping something. [00:08:36] Speaker C: Yeah. So it all depends what your ultimate goal is. If it's for, like, health, you want to think about circulation. You want to have the blood vessels have the, you know, the ability to get, like, oxygenated blood down to the lower extremities and their arms and then have that deoxygenated or that metabolic waste, the free radicals. You want to get rid of that stuff. You want to cycle that through. So you have to think about what kind of exercise is that? So then you think about, like, you know, aerobic exercises, duration, something that goes in patterns of like, 40, 50, 60 minutes in that kind of duration. And it kind of helps that circulation go through. But if you want to think about something in your 40s, you have to think about that. [00:09:12] Speaker A: That. [00:09:12] Speaker C: That creature that we always think about, and that's that. That bone density. Right. So as our, as. As females lose that estrogen, you start losing that bone density. And then you're starting to think about, am I osteoporosis? Optopenia. So one of the big components on there to antagonize that is aggressive exercise in the sense of weighted stress, loaded stuff. So it's not so much of, like, doing like, a lot of that action of that exercise. It's just to load your body. It can be as simple as just getting on the leg press and holding that weight about maybe you want to try to gauge a leg press that has your body weight plus maybe 20 or 30% more in your body weight. Just feel that load in your body. Because what the body does is that it feels that stress. And this is. Okay, this is a heavy load. Let me go ahead, lay more bone tissue down in my recovery phase. So as you come down from that exercise and you rest a day or two, your body is going to lay down more bone. Now you're increase your bone density. So that's important. So I would always say cardiovascular exercises, long walks, and then weight training, but you have to do something that's kind of heavy load. Push on that ver. That. That bones. The long bones in your body. [00:10:24] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. And the long bones are considered what, the thigh, the hip, Is that considered a long bone? [00:10:29] Speaker C: Exactly. Yep. [00:10:30] Speaker A: Okay. [00:10:31] Speaker C: Spine, all that stuff. [00:10:32] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. [00:10:32] Speaker C: So that's, that's what's really important is that just put the stress on it. You don't have to actually do the motion. Just feel that load, like, whoa. It's a lot of weight. But just hang on for a little bit, hold it for about 10 seconds, isometrically think, load it up and then release it. And now your body says, oh, I felt that. Let me lay more bone. Because we're going to do this exercise in a couple of days. [00:10:51] Speaker A: Okay. So if a person doesn't have access to like, leg weights, stairs, running, jumping, [00:10:57] Speaker C: jumping, you have to be careful with jumping, especially if you're like, if you're someone that's like sitting and all of a sudden you start moving. I would start with a simple walking and then do body weight squats, something that has the. Just a little bit of compression in there. But you need to get somewhere where you're almost like maximizing your weight, plus at 20, 30% of your weight. [00:11:14] Speaker A: Got it, Got it. Oh, that's good stuff. Good stuff. Let's talk about inflammation. Okay. Why is it. Let me just hit straight from the hip. Why. Why is it that. For some reason, I will say not all, but most of the time, if you go to a, you know, professional regarding, like an injury or pain or something, and they were saying, oh, you've got a lot of inflammation or little inflammation. It's like, well, what caused it? And they draw a blank. [00:11:47] Speaker C: Yeah. So inflammation is. It's. It's a large type of, like, it's a. It's a large subject. It's very interesting in the sense that what causes inflammation, especially chronic. So you hear inflammation when you sprain your ankle, your ankle swells up and that's normal process. You know, you have to go through that process to heal. You have to bring the inflammatory world in there, then you'll build the building blocks in there, and then it actually heals and then your inflammation will reduce the problem. Where it gets is that chronic situation when you have it like, not just your ankle, but through your whole body. So the inflammation can be everywhere in the sense that they're in your cells. There's things between your cells called interstitial fluid, so that you have fluid in there. Inflammation leaks in there. The problem, when you have that chronic inflammation for a long period of time, it delays things. It delays things of your nerve function, your hormone function, and just how your body communicates to its organ. So your function in your ability to do things slows down because there's like disturbance in the channeling process because of inflammation. You want to reduce that. You want to reduce that inflammation. So you have normal functioning systems and signaling. So the big thing is that you have to start thinking, like, why do I have this chronic inflammation? If that's what's identified, then you have to think about like, you might have a food, not a. Not an allergy, but a sensitivity. When you have a food sensitivity, that could be it. Or you might have something you fought in a bacteria or virus. And our body goes through a process where we combat that. But the problem is our body doesn't know. Sometimes it doesn't know how to shut it down. And now you're walking into the world of that autoimmune world because your body is constantly fighting. It's fighting something. It could fight the virus or bacteria, or it can actually go into your own tissue and fight itself. So you have to control the inflammation as soon as possible. And there's a lot of mechanism of controlling it on your own, you know. Okay, so then when you. Oh, let's go into it then. Okay, so one of the biggest thing that you can do on your own that's simple, is what they call nitric oxide. So in, in nitric oxide, there's a couple way of producing it. One of the ways called endothelial nitric oxide synthase. So with that process, it's as simple as exercising. Exercising because the blood vessels, when they go. When your body goes up and down, your blood vessels shake. And that shaking is what they call shearing on your blood vessels in the endothelial walls. When you start shaking and then it starts shearing the blood vessels, it releases nitric oxide in your vessels and the basal dilates when you basal dilate. Now you're in the world of what they call the, again, endothelial nitric oxide synthase. Now what that does is that it almost like inhibits or an antagonize. The other one, which we don't want, is what they call the induced nitric Oxide synthase, you want to reduce that. So now your chronic inflammation is shutting down, and then you have the capability to open up your blood vessels to get that stuff out. So that's one thing. So exercise. Another one is breathing. Breathing through your nose. When you breathe through your nose, inner navel cavities. Up here we have the process of getting nitric oxide. It gets into. Right into your nose and it goes down into the lungs and it dissipates through your body. So that's another way. So breathing through your nose. And the lastly is humming. Humming. You know, believe it or not, when you hum, that's why. That's why a lot of people, when you see people, like when they start singing and humming, you know, especially, you know, I'm a. I'm a man of God. So when I, you know, I'm in church and you start singing, you feel better. Well, that's nitric oxide being produced while you're doing, like, humming. [00:15:27] Speaker A: Serious. And, you know, I'm a psalmist, so when you're saying that, that is. It's. That's so funny because that's something I do all the time. You know, whether I'm in church or out of church. It's like, I'll sing myself happy. You know, I think I do that all the time. [00:15:41] Speaker C: And. [00:15:41] Speaker A: And you hear a lot about. I've heard, for some reason, it seems like I heard it, like in the distance somewhere that somebody said something about humming, but it didn't stick because it's like, no, you didn't relate it to inflammation. But in other words. So listen, let me take it a little step further. So in other words, if a person were to take time out, like, to worship and, like, sing and hum. You're healing. [00:16:04] Speaker C: You're healing. [00:16:05] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Come on, think about that. [00:16:08] Speaker C: You were. [00:16:08] Speaker A: You were doing. [00:16:09] Speaker C: Oh, you're doing two things. You know, you're getting the. You're getting the word and you're increasing circulation because you are. Yeah, nitric oxide. That's the secret of all this whole circulation of our body. Increase that ability to do that. [00:16:21] Speaker A: When I tell you, I'm going to tell it. Oh, my gosh, that is amazing. That is absolutely amazing. So if there is a correlation, correlation rather between this light exercise, or I would say weighted exercise, targeted, but not to a point of your detriment, and the reduction of inflammation. [00:16:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:16:47] Speaker A: Wow. [00:16:47] Speaker C: I think. Yeah. So the big thing that you have to remember is that each of those things do a certain thing. You want to increase bone density with the high pressure with the heavy weights on the leg press and isometric. Then you do the. Then you can do a compound effect of nitric oxide by doing a good walk for about 30, 40 minutes. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, I love that. [00:17:07] Speaker C: And you hum at the same time. You are increasing nitric oxide production by I think 10 or 20 fold. So here's a, here's a funny thing. So they even broke down the frequency of the hum, which is about 150Hz. So you want to think about the 150Hz when you're humming and doing the exercise. Now you're really engaging that healthy kind of, that endothelial the blood vessels, because we want to avoid that kind of the hardening of the arteries. We have a lot of bad things that happens with that. So you need to exercise. That's why exercise is good for all aspect, not only for the system of the body and the vessels, but also about the breathing and the inflammation and how we operate our own system. [00:17:48] Speaker A: That is wonderful. Oh, see, I learned something new every day. Just like that quote said, stop learning. You're growing old. And I always said, you're dying, you're dying a slow, grueling death. So, you know, one of the things that I thought about as well, like a lot of ladies, people in general on autopilot, you know, they, it's just, this is their routine, this is what they're doing. And sometimes you'll start at a peak and then you will fizzle out quickly because you're burnout. Instead of pacing yourself, pacing yourself and learning to listen to your body, listen to yourself when your body's letting you know that you're on the verge of burnout. Um, a lot of people that I've experienced some that I've coached in the past, and I'm, I'm thankful when I do my checkup on them, they're doing much better with allocating, you know, their time, time blocks and delegating their time. And like my mother used to say, you have to have a shut off. But I remember when I first started juggling a whole lot of things and it was fun to me, you know, I always said, well, you know, I'm busy, but I'm busy about my father's business because I don't like to do things amiss, you know, just to be doing something, just to say I'm busy, that's a waste of my time. But one thing that I always try to, to tell people when they say I'm overwhelmed or I'm just feeling like I just can't take anymore. It's like, okay, I don't like the word overwhelm. And the reason why I even personally try not to use it, because what that says, when that pops in my head to say that I'm overwhelmed, it's letting me know that either I need to reorganize or take something off my plate. Yeah, reorganize or take something off my plate. So let's talk about burnout in correlation to all the things that we just talked about. The light exercise, light to moderate exercise, and how simple that is to incorporate that into your day to be able to level out some things and as well, inflammation, which is like this big marker that everybody's talking about. Nobody's really been given, like the gut soul of, you know, how can I. If that is the case, if it's like you said, if it's chronic, you know, what. What can I do on a holistic basis to incorporate better? I would say eating, you know, eating habits, diet, whatever, exercise, what the case may be to. To let's kill this inflammation. You know, a lot of times, again, you know, and I always take everything. I always say everything's spiritual. So, you know, a lot of times you could take it further. Sometimes it's something that needs to be, you know, diagnosed and. And dealt with from a medical perspective. And some things actually probably need to be cast out, you know, because it's. It's some type of. Of. Of spirit that's contrary to anything good that is causing certain things. And you feed it your energy because you keep saying, I have this, I have that. Oh, this isn't working, and this is stopping and this is hurting, and this is hur. Like to get to the root of a problem. Let's root it out. Like in Jeremiah. Let's root it out, you know, gut it out, throw it out, throw down, plant, and then rebuild, you know. So with. With that being said, how does that, all of that. How does that roll in for a person being burnt out? How do they elite alleviate those things from being burnt out because of what we just mentioned. [00:21:00] Speaker C: Yeah, good point. So the word overwhelm and identifying it and understanding that that creates that world that we talk about is stress. Right? We don't want stress. Stress is a big kind of like, you know, we need stress, but we don't need it in the long term. We don't need the chronic, you know, stress in a little, little time zone, you know, a little workout. We get stressed out. We have. But we have a solution, and then we solve that and then the stress goes down. When you have that overwhelming or that stressful moment for a long period of time, well, believe it or not, that increases inflammatory world. And then also it decreases your immune system because of that whole factor. Now you're prone to getting sick. So you have to identify that right away. Break it down, do that, stop that pause, and then kind of like just identify what's important right now. What do I have control over and what I don't have control over and fix those things that you have control over. And most likely it's going to be you, it's going to be me. It's going to be what? I have control over me. I can't control this person or this project because it's out of my hand. So then I look at that. So when I look at inflammation and stress, eliminate that. Then you start thinking about, all right, I need to increase that nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is a secret weapon to combat that inflammation. It's very simple. You have it at your house. It's you. It's you doing the breathing and the exercise, and go into it, and then you'll see at the first initial point, you know, write down your thoughts before you do that breathing exercise. Then do it for 30 or 40 minutes of that walk and humming. And then come back and read that thought. And I guarantee you're gonna say, who's that person? I don't remember that person. It's gonna be gone. So it's about. It's about taking. Taking where you're at right now and forgetting about it. Go to the future. Always think about, where do I want to go and what are the steps? And then the steps are, of course, decreasing stress, decreasing all that kind of like that complication that's in your life, and then go into something that just neutralizes and get you back to square one. [00:22:55] Speaker A: I love that health is wealth a lot of times, and as an accountant for all these years, I've dealt with a lot of, you know, those. The upper echelon and then those that are just getting started, new starters. Everybody's mind is on building wealth or money, I would say getting money. And then it's like there's a transition to the mindset of wealth, you know, more so than just instantaneous money. And I remember the. The thought processes I had with a lot of them. It's like you're telling me all of these health issues, you know, because, you know, a lot of times your accountant is like, almost like your. Your friend or your counselor, I would say because, you know, you know, a lot of their intricate business parts, their families, you know, what comes and goes. Yet it's a transactional, you know, relationship that a lot of times builds into a, a business friendship. And I remember so many times hearing about all the chronic illnesses and the things that they're fighting health wise and the things that they're, you know, they're dealing with and how the stress and they're losing this and they're losing that. And you know, I get up and I'm hurting and I go to bed and I have a migraine and I have to lay down the middle of the day and it's like, you know, you're breaking down in pursuit of money. You're breaking down. And I remember that transitional thought that I gave about, you know, if you've got all the money in the world and your health has just gone to pits because you've misaligned your priorities somewhere along the way and paid more attention to the money aspect rather than how you're going to take care of yourself and have self care and some type of balance. I remember that the realism of that conversation with this one client that I'm not going to call the name that really changed the trajectory of their life and their thought process. Now mind you, even during the pandemic, they continue to make seven, eight figures. But the priority changed from chasing money to pursuing wealth, which health is wealth. And there's a wholeness about it because it goes to mind, body, spirit and finances. There's a whole dynamic to it, not just one centralized. Let me go get this money. You know, even now I try to help ladies transition from the hustle and grind culture to the alignment culture. Mind, body, spirit and finances. I am one that really, truly does believe that the good Lord wants us to prosper in every area of our life. You know, the scripture tells us that if we search it properly, it tells us that we, we. He wants us to be whole. He delights in the prosperity of our people, of his people, of us. But if it's misaligned and you're chasing money instead of chasing what's important and aligning it with wealth is health, making that one of your priorities. You can have all the money in the world and it's not going to help you if something breaks down because you didn't listen to it chuckling as you went along. You understand what I mean? [00:26:19] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Awesome. Yeah. I believe especially when you think about, you know, money is a, is a, is a fork in the road. Right. It can Go bad, it can go good. Whatever your thought process behind that money and the way I look at money is like, you know, it's. It's part of your life. You need that, right? There's a. There's a function in it, in our life that we need. [00:26:40] Speaker A: It's a byproduct. [00:26:41] Speaker C: It's a. But. Yeah, but what I see money in my world is that I'm helping people. I'm helping people by expanding their mindset in the sense of my product and what the whole regenerative medicine is now. Do I get rewarded for that? Eventually, as we go into the future. But if you're passionate behind your goal of helping people, the money will go, the money will follow. It always. It always occurs that way. So it's about how dedicated you are with this. [00:27:07] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely. And the thing is that, that's so funny. A lot of times that burnout comes because you didn't meet your sales mark and you're going to stay up all night to figure out why you shouldn't meet your sales mark or what do I need to do? And so things are off balance. Tell us how important it is to be intentional or strategic about striking that balance of self. Care. [00:27:38] Speaker C: Oh, it's huge. I mean, think about, you want to go drive across the country and you don't take care of your car. It's not going to cross that country. You've got it. That's your body. Your body is your vehicle to do what you want to do. And that's again, you're saying mind, body, spirit, soul, finances. You've got to take care of everything. And then that means preserving your energy. We all have a, like a battery amount of power now. You can be around bad people. They take that part from you. Or you surround yourself with good people. So not only is about you, but it's your surroundings that you kind of have to protect and make sure that you are achieving what you want to in your pathway. So it's very important when you think about, like the future of you, you think about. I always see myself two, five years from now, and I see, all right, I ask advice. How'd you get there? I. I have a conversation with my future self and like, all right, I see where I'm at. What do I do then get there. And then it helps you along to your course of action through, you know, you're going to have a point where you're going to misbalance yourself. There's going to be like, whoa, I'm pushing myself hard. You have to Identify that. What am I doing? What is the excess of stress that I put on my body? Is it potentially harmful to me or is it helpful to me? So that's what you have to ask yourself. You have to do a little bit of self evaluation as much as possible at certain points of your time, and then just say, all right, I'm on the course. Keep going, process further, and then everything works out. But you also need that spiritual side. I always say you need someone beyond you, your friends, that takes you into that next step. You know, I was thinking. I was thinking while you're talking about how, you know, as an accountant, people just open up to you. And then I remember someone. Tell me about. There are two people that you always tell everything, and that's the pastor and your accountant. Those are the two people you tell everything. And, you know, therapists even say those things. Like, yeah, we don't hear everything. But the pastor, believe me, I hold [00:29:35] Speaker A: a lot of water, a lot of private things, and a lot of secrets from people. I hold a lot. That's why I tell people. I said, believe me, I've earned every civil medal. Every civil medal I've earned. I have earned that, you know, and. And that is true. I remember thinking about. When you were talking, I thought about recovery. You know, recovery is a broad span word, but again, it encompasses mind, body, spirit, and finances. There's always a recovery stage. And so when we were talking about the body initially, you know, you were talking about how you have to have that. That space to recover. And then, you know, we're talking about the mind, you know, you have to have that space to recover, to reflect, to look back, to peel back these layers and sit with it. Sometimes you just got to sit with yourself, you know, and then the. The spiritual side, you know, know who to cast your cares on, who to give that to, know who to be in alignment with. Because there was a plan already designated and designed for us, and a lot of times we're working against the grain and wondering why it's not working or by the grace of God, it works for a little bit. And then you hit this plateau because you have to go back and get your car realigned, you know, get your mind reset and realign on the new blueprints. Your. Your next. What's your next? And then the same thing with finances. You know, things go up and down. I was telling somebody not too long ago, they said, you know, I just wish my money would just. Just go just straight, just straight. Just. Just. You know, when I'm on a peak. Just stay right there. And I said, well, you know, if. If it's just on a peak, that means it's just stagnant. Think about whenever they connect you to those heart machines, the machine is going up and down. That lets you know you're still breathing. [00:31:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:31:26] Speaker A: And that machine goes flatlined. You're dead. [00:31:29] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:31:30] Speaker A: So the same thing, you know, I look at the same thing with your finances. You're going to have highs and you're going to have loads. You're going to have times where, you know, you reach a peak. And it's like, okay, I wish I could get more. What can I do to strategize, to get more. What can I do, you know, to be able to increase this, to scale my business, yada, yada, yada. People have all types of different types of things that, you know, they can employ to be able to. To move that needle. But the fact that it fluctuates. It's fluctuating. That's just letting you know it still has life. But you just have to go back to that main dynamic, the author and finisher of our faith, to be able to get your new instructions when you can't move that needle with your, I would say, human effort, your logical mind at that point. [00:32:15] Speaker C: And then. And then everybody thinks they're in control. You're. Nobody's in control. [00:32:18] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:32:19] Speaker C: Nobody's in control. You're only in control of your effort and your focus. Other than that, there's a bigger plan, and the plan is set in stone, in path of. Here's the least resistance, here's a tough one, and this one's very rewarding. But it's a tough road. You want to go down that road, Go for it, you know. [00:32:37] Speaker A: Absolutely. Absolutely. And that's what allows us to be able to grow, is to understand that he gives us, like, a manner of authority, but we're not, because we can pick and choose. Like you said, go to this, go to this one, or go straight, you know, and the easy. [00:32:56] Speaker C: Everybody wants to take the easy route, right? We all want to take these, but it's just a few of us. Like, I want to take that hard road. I want to see what's at the other side. Let's go. And then it goes, all right. And then, you know, the maker says, okay, we're going to get you the test. We're going to have a lot of tests in your side and let's see if you can handle it. [00:33:12] Speaker A: But it builds. You listen, oh, my God. It Builds you. Yes, I. I am one who would not have chosen my path the way it was. I am one who would say, if I had complete control, I would have done it this way or for myself at this stage in life. I would be here, and I would be doing that. But when you're aligned and when you know who's in control, you realize that it is as he says, you know, a good man. Steps ordered by the Lord. So when you're following those steps and you look back over your shoulder a year, a month, 10 years, 20 years, and it's like, oh, my God, you've been in this path and this journey the whole time. Even though I thought I was carrying it on my own, you've been ordering my steps to get me to where I am today. [00:33:59] Speaker C: Yeah. How about those little voices that. That are inside your head, that you think they're your thoughts but not your thoughts? [00:34:05] Speaker A: That's your guy. That's your God. I told somebody recently, Dr. Tomm, I said, if I had known, of course, if I had known back then what I know now, a lot of the wrong paths I would not have taken. And I wouldn't say it was wrong path to my detriment, because all of them were still building blocks to my today. But it's like when you look back and it's like, I shouldn't have done that. I wish I hadn't done that. I remember that voice. I didn't know it at the time. Like, as a teenager, you know, you didn't know this was your guiding, but you heard about it, but you didn't know that this voice was like your guiding force, your guiding light. That was him speaking all along. And. And it was so funny because I said it was in my, like, late teenage years and early twenties where I had, like, this evaluation. I sat with it and I said, every time I go against that voice, I make a mess. [00:35:07] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:08] Speaker A: But when I follow it, oh, my God, when I follow it, it's like, yay, I'm like a kid. Like, yes. [00:35:16] Speaker C: And don't forget, Cindy, there is the opposite person that's in your head that's doing the opposite that wants you to do something bad. And there's that. That evil side that we all get tempted, and then we just have to identify who he is and just understand that that's always going to be part of our life, but you have to push him away. He's always trying to pay. [00:35:34] Speaker A: That identification comes from staying in the father's face. He said, my sheep know my voice. And A stranger, they will not follow. So when you're in his face, when you're in his presence, when you're in that worship at home, that walk with that home, that time in scripture, that time listening, you learn quickly how to decipher between the too. And just like my mom always says, well, you know, the devil's not going to tell you to do something good. She said, just make it easy for you. The devil's not going to tell you to do something good. And even though sometimes some things that we're challenged with and we're told to do, you're questioned because it's like, wait a minute, you know, you know, it's. I mean, wait a minute. But it's worth it again, as we mentioned earlier, to pause, to sit with it and to get revelation behind it. I'm at a stage now where if I'm unsure, I'll whisper that little prayer. I'm like, okay, God, is this opportunity from you or is this distraction? I don't want to be distracted from anything that's taking me out of purpose. I don't want to be distracted. I do not. I want to stay the course. [00:36:43] Speaker C: That's awesome. These, that's awesome. [00:36:46] Speaker A: These building blocks, you know. [00:36:48] Speaker C: Oh, absolutely. You know, like anybody else that's, that's starting off, you're going to have that kind of. There's going to be forks in the road. There's always going to be a fork on the road. And then, you know, that one fork, I mean, one, one route is going to be longer, harder, tougher, but you'll get there. And there, there's a temptation of the, hey, take the shortcut. Do this one. You'll get there quicker. But you know there's something down that path is not good. You just have to trust your big decision in your head that understands that, hey, oh, yeah, there's no shortcuts in this world. You can just go process forward, forward and ask for forgiveness and strength and go, move forward. [00:37:24] Speaker A: Yes, yes. The thing is, piggybacking on what you just said, when you do take a detour off the road and get off the wagon, ask for forgiveness, get back on the wagon and keep it moving with your new instructions. But at the same time, use that as a building block. Don't waste that time. If you took a wrong turn and you didn't learn anything from it, you just wasted time, air and space out of your life. Glean something from it. What did you learn from it? What made you better from it? I can give you a list Because I don't like to look like I've or feel like I've ever wasted time. Even though I know there are some areas where I probably did dilly dally and waste time. But that's not. I'm intentional about utilizing every breath that he's given me here to still be here to make a difference, to have some type of impact, make somebody's life better, make them smile. Something. Tell me, tell us what you would tell your 20 year old self at this stage in life. [00:38:32] Speaker C: It's okay to make those mistakes. It's okay. You're going to be fine. You know, believe it or not, everybody makes mistakes. [00:38:39] Speaker A: Yes. [00:38:39] Speaker C: Just get up and go. Get up. Don't feel sorry for yourself. Process forward, you know, believe in your plan, believe in your ability. Because believe it or not, it's not really your plan. There's a, there's a seed in your thought process that somehow said, I want to be a sports doctor or I want to do this. Those ain't really my thoughts. Those, those are set. Those are set way before I was born. [00:39:04] Speaker A: Born. Absolutely. [00:39:04] Speaker C: And now it's your job or your destiny to do that. But that, that trail or that, that path is gonna be difficult because he wants to test you. They, you want the rewards, you want that. Okay, here you go. Well, I'll give you the tools, you sharpen them, you make them stronger and you continue down that path and get ready for the obstacles. So I think in general, I was fortunate enough to go through a lot of adversity and now it becomes part of second nature because, okay, we have a problem here. No big deal. Work the problem, keep going forward. [00:39:37] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. A lot of discipline, a lot of questions, but a lot of answers, a lot of revelations behind those answers. [00:39:45] Speaker C: And la. Yeah, it's all about learning from your mistakes. Or I wouldn't say mistakes, they're just learning, learning, learning curves. There you go. [00:39:53] Speaker A: Yeah, learning curves, absolutely. [00:39:56] Speaker C: That 20 year old kid I like. Oh my God, look at this guy right here. [00:40:00] Speaker A: Look. [00:40:00] Speaker C: Okay, guy. All right, what are you gonna do now? [00:40:02] Speaker A: Right, right. And, and the mellowness that comes with the process. You know, like you just said, a lot of times it's like, you know what, we've got an issue. Let's just. We're going to work through it, we're going to get through it. It's no need just absolutely ripping your skin off your body, you know, the same way you got in it, get out of it, seek counsel, seek guidance. How can people find you? They want to contact you, reach out to you, find out what's going On NEXT with Dr. Tommy. How do they reach out to you? [00:40:33] Speaker C: Yeah, you can, you can go by website. It's r h E-E-G-E-N.com and then there's an info button or just email me with that. Or you can, you can read my book too on Amazon, the Future of Regenerative Medicine. Take a look at that. Real simple description of what stem cell therapy is all about. And then other than that, I mean, I'm in Tampa, Florida. You want to come on by and say hi to me? I'm here.
